    Description

    The Project

Casa Myrna, Boston’s largest provider of shelter and supportive services to domestic violence survivors, is looking for a volunteer to shoot and edit a 2 minute video related to our 50th anniversary celebration. The development and communications team will work with the volunteer to discuss our vision for the video, and welcome your ideas as well. The video will include a voiceover brief history of the organization, quotes from interviews with Casa Myrna staff, and some b-roll of archival materials.

    Timeline

We are hoping for interviews to be shot in August and the video to be edited in September. We estimate the total volunteer time for this project to be 10 – 20 hours

    You Will:

      • Have experience shooting and editing video
      • Provide your own video shooting and editing software
      • Edit soundbites from interviews
      • Use archival elements as b-roll
      • Add captions, music, transitions, and graphics where appropriate
      • Communicate with the development and communications team throughout the process

    About Us

Casa Myrna is Boston’s largest provider of domestic violence awareness efforts and of shelter and supportive services to survivors. Our comprehensive range of services, available in both Spanish and English, provide survivors with tools to recover from the trauma of abuse and begin to build sustainable self-sufficiency.

Each year, we serve over 1,000 survivors through three residential programs, housing assistance and advocacy, financial literacy education and job readiness skill building, individual and group counseling, legal advocacy and representation, children’s services, and community-based advocacy. Casa Myrna operates SafeLink, Massachusetts’ statewide 24/7 toll-free domestic violence hotline, which answers over 25,000 calls annually. We also provide domestic and dating violence awareness and prevention services by educating teens and adults across the state through workshops, seminars, trainings, social media, engagement with the media and annual ad campaigns on mass transit systems.
