    Description

    Mission / About Us:

Blueprint for Womanhood (BFW) is a culturally grounded rites-of-passage program serving Black girls and their families in Metro Phoenix. Our mission is to support Black girls in developing confidence, leadership skills, cultural awareness, and a strong sense of self as they transition from Black girlhood into Black womanhood. BFW is the flagship impact program of Life Paradigms, Inc., a women-led nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering Black youth and their families through leadership development, culture, advocacy, and the arts.

    Role Overview

We are seeking a Volunteer Brand & Social Media Manager to support Blueprint for Womanhood’s digital presence and storytelling.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the power of narrative, cultural integrity, and consistency, and who wants to help steward a legacy program with care. You will support how our story, values, and impact are communicated online as we continue to grow.

This is a soft-launch role, meaning systems and workflows are still being refined, and the volunteer will collaborate closely with leadership during this phase.

    What You’ll Do

    Content Creation & Storytelling

    • Create and schedule content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
    • Translate program moments, milestones, and impact into thoughtful posts, captions, and short-form content
    • Support the creation of reels, graphics, and visual storytelling that reflects BFW’s mission and tone

    Social Media Management

    • Help maintain a consistent posting rhythm
    • Monitor engagement and support community interaction in alignment with program values
    • Adapt trends thoughtfully for a culturally grounded, youth-centered nonprofit voice

    Brand Support

    • Help uphold a clear, affirming, and values-aligned brand voice
    • Support visibility for programs, events, and key initiatives
    • Ensure messaging reflects dignity, leadership, and cultural grounding rather than performative or deficit-based narratives

    Optional On-Ground Support (if local)

    • Attend select events or gatherings to capture photos or short video content
    • Help document real moments of community, leadership, and growth

Who This Role Is Great For

    • Emerging or early-career professionals in marketing, communications, branding, or media
    • Content creators who want to support Black-led, community-rooted work
    • Social media managers seeking meaningful, portfolio-worthy nonprofit experience
    • Individuals with experience in or a strong understanding of culturally grounded work in Black communities

Skills & Experience (Preferred, Not Required)

    • Experience managing or supporting social media accounts
    • Comfort creating short-form content (graphics, reels, captions)
    • Familiarity with tools like Canva, CapCut, Adobe, or similar
    • Strong writing skills and sensitivity to tone, audience, and cultural context
    • Organized, reliable, and able to work independently with guidance

    Time Commitment

Flexible, approximately 5–10 hours per week.

We value consistency and care over volume.

    What You’ll Gain

    • Hands-on experience supporting a 31-year legacy program
    • Meaningful contribution to the empowerment of Black girls and families
    • Portfolio-ready work in nonprofit brand building and storytelling
    • Connection to a Black-led, women-led organization grounded in culture and community
