    Description

Missions on Wheels serves community non-profits, disaster response teams, and local organizations by providing sleeping and shower accommodations for volunteers and agencies responding to disasters.

Here are a few reasons you should consider applying:

    • Meaningful Impact on Disaster Relief: Board members help lead an organization that has saved partners over $11 million in rental expenses since 2016, enabling more funds to go directly to rebuilding homes and assisting survivors.
    • Support for Volunteers and First Responders: The organization provides essential, basic sanitation and housing to those working in, or affected by, disasters, allowing them to remain in the field and continue restoration work.
    • Active Leadership Role: The board is actively seeking members to broaden its reach, capacity, and capabilities, specifically to help develop a new 5-acre "Missions Ranch" in NW Montgomery County, which will house 200+ volunteers and 70+ trailers.
    • Strategic Growth and Development: Board members participate in critical planning, such as developing the "Missions Ranch" campus, upgrading the trailer fleet with on-board generators, and securing corporate sponsors for trailers.
    • Serving with Purpose and Community: The opportunity allows for working with like-hearted people, with a focus on faith-based service to those in need, regardless of their situation.
    • Professional Development: Board service provides an opportunity to develop leadership skills in a non-profit environment that is actively growing and expanding its operations.

This board meets monthly. If you are interested in taking a leadership role in building and sustaining our mission in the long-term disaster relief space, we would love to talk to you.
