Ladies at the Lab Program Support Volunteer at Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA)

Are you interested in sexual violence prevention, consent education, community outreach, or helping women connect with local resources?

Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA) participates in Ladies at the Lab, a monthly women-centered evening at The Lab Bar & Bites on the Hill in Boulder. We are looking for women age 18 or older to join us at the MESA table, help share information and resources, and create a fun, approachable way for attendees to learn more about MESA.

This opportunity may be especially appealing to CU Boulder students, college-age women, and others interested in prevention education, consent, women’s issues, community outreach, or sexual violence advocacy.

Ladies at the Lab takes place on the first Tuesday of every month, approximately 7:30 to 11:00 p.m. Volunteers are welcome to participate for all or part of the evening.

What you will do:

1. 1. Help set up and staff the MESA outreach table
   2. Welcome attendees who stop by to learn more about MESA
   3. Share general information about MESA’s services and programs
   4. Hand out MESA resources and fun consent-, boundary-, and empowerment-focused materials
   5. Help keep the table organized, stocked, and welcoming throughout the evening
   6. Talk with attendees who have general questions about MESA
   7. Help pack up outreach materials at the end of the evening

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for women age 18 or older who are friendly, dependable, comfortable talking with others, and interested in sexual violence prevention, consent education, women’s issues, or community outreach.

No counseling, advocacy, or professional experience is required. MESA staff will be onsite, and volunteers will receive basic information about MESA and the role before participating.

Location: The Lab Bar & Bites, 1155 13th Street, Boulder, Colorado

Schedule: First Tuesday of each month, approximately 7:30–11:00 p.m. Volunteers may join us for any portion of the evening.

MESA is Boulder County’s sexual violence resource center and provides free and confidential advocacy, support, holistic programming, and community education to people impacted by sexual violence.
