Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with other volunteers and People Helping People, load, secure, and unload furniture in a variety of moving vehicles, ensuring safe transit to residential sites.
- Assemble furniture on-site, including beds and tables, using hand and power tools.
- Provide excellent customer service, including navigating furniture into homes, delivering furniture to the correct area of the home and conducting site clean-up.
- Must be dependable and on-time for scheduled volunteer shifts.
Qualifications:
- Friendly, approachable, and comfortable speaking with people from all backgrounds.
- Passion for serving veterans and their families.
- Must be able to work in a team.
- Ability to lift heavy furniture (50+ lbs) regularly, often using dollies and with a partner.
- Experience with basic hand/power tools and basic assembly skills.
- Reliable and able to represent Qualified Listeners in a positive, professional manner.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from various sites in Larimer and Weld Counties.
- Must attend a volunteer orientation and complete necessary paperwork.
- Become familiar with and follow all policies and procedures of Qualified Listeners
- Must pass a background check.
