    Description

Lumoset Foundation makes free online-safety courses and guides that help everyday people avoid scams and feel more confident using technology. Our audience is often older adults, caregivers, and people newer to being online. Everything we make is free, with no account, no paywall, and no catch.

We have one video. We need seven more, and we already know exactly what they should say.

    WHAT YOU WOULD DO

Film one short video, about three minutes, talking to the camera. We send you a starter script, so you are not researching or writing from scratch. Every topic below already has a finished, fact-checked page on our site, and the script comes straight from it.

    Pick whichever topic interests you:

    1. The tech support scam: "your computer has a virus"
    2. The romance scam: when "I love you" comes with a money ask
    3. Fake investment offers
    4. Identity theft: what to do in the first 48 hours
    5. Spotting a cloned voice or a deepfake
    6. Video calls with family, made simple
    7. Online banking: telling a real bank message from a fake one

YOU DO NOT NEED PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT

A phone camera is genuinely fine. So is a laptop webcam or whatever you already own. Good light and clear sound matter far more than gear, and we will tell you the two or three simple things that make the biggest difference.

See what we are going for: our existing video is on our Scam Awareness page at lumoset.org/scam-awareness/ Have a look. It is one person, talking plainly, for three minutes. That is the whole bar. If you can beat it, wonderful. If you match it, that is a real win for us.

If you would rather not appear on camera, say so when you apply and we will talk about other ways to do it.

    WHO THIS IS FOR

Anyone comfortable speaking clearly on camera. You do not need to be a filmmaker or a scam expert. Students building a portfolio, retirees, teachers, communications people, and first-time video makers are all welcome. If you are patient and warm on camera, you are who we are looking for.

    WHAT YOU GET

This is an unpaid volunteer role, but the work is real and it ships. Your video goes on our YouTube channel and onto the matching page of our website, where the people it was made for will actually find it.

A published link you can point at. We send you the live link so you can put it straight in your portfolio, your resume, or your LinkedIn. It is a real piece of published work for a registered nonprofit, not an unpaid test project that disappears.

Credit by name on the video and on the page, unless you would rather we did not.

A recommendation letter, gladly, describing exactly what you made. Just ask.

Your volunteer hours logged from day one, if you need them for a school, employer or service requirement.

Do one video and stop, and that is completely fine. If you enjoy it, there are six more.

Lumoset teaches general safety and digital skills only. We never give individual legal, financial, or medical advice. Everything we make is, and always will be, free.
