    Directions

SEVA Travelers offers host organizations across Laos, spanning Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang. These placements give volunteers the chance to support community-driven initiatives focused on education, social enterprise, arts, and cultural development. Volunteers will work alongside local nonprofits that are strengthening their fundraising strategies, donor engagement, and storytelling to build long-term impact — all while experiencing Laos’s rich cultural heritage and UNESCO World Heritage sites.

These vetted and verified NGOs include:

MITTAPHAP International – Vang Vieng, Laos

MITTAPHAP International is a social enterprise and education project operating in Laos and Cambodia. The organization provides free education, skills training, and community-based tourism programs to empower local youth and build sustainable livelihoods. Volunteers will help develop a holistic fundraising strategy, craft compelling stories for international donors, optimize donation systems, and identify corporate and partner engagement opportunities. There’s also opportunity to assist in digital marketing, campaign development, and building long-term donor relationships.

Blue Chair – Luang Prabang, Laos

Blue Chair produces the Luang Prabang Film Festival, a free biennial event celebrating contemporary Southeast Asian cinema. Beyond the festival, Blue Chair supports the Lao film industry through workshops, mentoring, and community screenings. Volunteers will help develop fundraising strategies, identify corporate and international sponsors, and strengthen digital communications to reach global donors. There’s also opportunity to support marketing campaigns, event sponsorship outreach, and storytelling that highlights Laos’s vibrant arts and cultural scene.

Each of these inspiring organizations has identified its unique capacity-building goals and consulting needs. For detailed Skilled Volunteer Project Descriptions, please visit the Current Projects page at https://www.sevatravelers.org/laos-projects
