    First & Gold Foundation

    Status: Volunteer / Part-Time

    Time Commitment: Approximately 10–12 hours per week

    Location: Remote

    Reports to: Executive Director

    Works Closely With: Board of Directors, CMO, CFO, Chief Program Officer

    Position Overview

    The Chief Development Officer (CDO) leads the strategy and execution of all fundraising and revenue-generating efforts for the First & Gold Foundation. This role is responsible for building and managing a comprehensive development program, including individual giving, corporate partnerships, grants, sponsorships, and special campaigns.

    The CDO plays a critical leadership role, working closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to cultivate relationships, secure funding, and ensure long-term financial sustainability.

    Key Responsibilities

    Development Strategy & Leadership

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and development strategy
    • Establish short- and long-term revenue goals aligned with organizational priorities
    • Build a diversified funding portfolio to support programs and growth

    Individual Giving & Major Gifts

    • Design and manage individual giving and donor stewardship programs
    • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors
    • Support Board members in their fundraising and donor engagement efforts

    Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships

    • Develop and manage corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and in-kind support
    • Create partnership proposals aligned with brand and program goals
    • Maintain strong relationships with corporate and community partners

    Grants & Institutional Funding

    • Oversee grant strategy, including prospect research, applications, and reporting
    • Collaborate with program leadership to develop compelling grant narratives and budgets
    • Ensure timely reporting and compliance with funder requirements

    Campaigns & Fundraising Initiatives

    • Lead fundraising campaigns, events, and special initiatives
    • Partner with the CMO to align fundraising messaging and donor communications
    • Track fundraising performance and adjust strategy as needed

    Data, Reporting & Accountability

    • Monitor fundraising metrics and revenue progress
    • Report regularly to the Executive Director and Board on development performance
    • Maintain donor data and support transparent stewardship practices

    Qualifications

    • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related fields
    • Demonstrated success in individual giving, grants, or partnership development
    • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
    • Understanding of nonprofit governance and ethical fundraising practices
    • Strategic, organized, and results-oriented mindset
    • Passion for mission-driven work and community impact

    Time Commitment

    • Approximately 10–12 hours per week
    • Flexible schedule; some evening or weekend availability may be required for donor meetings or events
