    Description

    About the opportunity

We’re looking for volunteer graphic designers to support our Innovator Lab students by sharing practical design advice and helping create social media graphics that highlight student projects, events, and program updates. This is a remote-friendly role with flexible hours, ideal for designers who enjoy mentoring and want to make a direct impact on young innovators.

    What you’ll do

As a Volunteer Graphic Designer Mentor, you will:

    • Provide friendly, actionable design feedback to students (logos, posters, pitch decks, social posts, etc.)
    • Offer short guidance sessions (group or 1:1) on design basics including layout, hierarchy, typography, color, and brand consistency
    • Help create or refine social media graphics (templates, event flyers, program announcements, student spotlights)
    • Collaborate with our team to keep visuals aligned with our tone and goals
    • (Optional) Help establish a lightweight visual system (template library, style guide, icon set)

    Ideal volunteer(s)

You might be a great fit if you:

    • Have experience in graphic design, branding, or visual communication
    • Are comfortable designing for social platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.)
    • Can give feedback that is kind, clear, and encouraging
    • Are familiar with tools like Canva, Figma, or similar
    • Enjoy helping students

    What you’ll gain

    • A chance to directly support students building real-world projects
    • Community impact and meaningful volunteer experience
    • Optional reference/verification of hours and a LinkedIn recommendation upon successful completion
    • A portfolio-friendly opportunity (where appropriate and with permission)
