    Social Media Manager-Volunteer Role

    Position Overview

    The Social Media Manager is responsible for executing and managing the organization’s social media presence across platforms to drive awareness, engagement, and community growth.

    This role translates marketing strategy into daily content, manages platform activity, engages with audiences, and ensures consistent and impactful brand representation. The Social Media Manager plays a critical role in amplifying the organization’s mission, programs, and initiatives through compelling digital content and active community interaction.

    Operating at both a creative and execution level, this role ensures the organization maintains a strong and engaging presence across all social channels.

    Volunteer Commitment Expectations

    • Estimated Commitment: 8–12 hours per week
    • Availability: Flexible, with expectation of consistent posting and engagement
    • Participation in marketing coordination meetings required

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Experience managing social media platforms (personal, academic, or professional)
    • Strong understanding of:
      • Social media platforms and trends
      • Content creation and engagement strategies
    • Strong written communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in social media management or digital marketing
    • Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
    • Experience using scheduling and analytics tools
    • Experience working in remote or distributed teams
