    Description

Spread the News: a family friendly volunteer morning with Documented

Spread the News — A Volunteer Morning with Documented

Join journalists, neighbors, and volunteers to share news you can use in Queens

Saturday, June 6 from 10 am to noon

    RSVP here

Spend the morning with Documented helping connect immigrant communities in Queens with trusted local journalism and useful community information.

We’ll gather at 10:00 AM for coffee, tea, snacks and a quick orientation before volunteers fan out in small groups across Elmhurst, Corona, and Jackson Heights to share "hot off the press" investigations and guides for immigrant residents and neighbors.

Along the way, volunteers will have the chance to meet Documented journalists, explore neighborhood community sites, and help spread the word about responsive, multilingual journalism rooted in the needs of immigrant New Yorkers.

After outreach, volunteers are invited back to debrief — or email us with photos, videos, and impressions from the field so we can share the impact of the event.

We’ll also have Documented giveaways and merch available!

    Please bring:

    • Comfortable walking shoes and be ready to take public transportation or bring a bike or car
    • A backpack or tote bag for materials
    • Umbrella or rain jacket if needed

Spanish speakers are especially encouraged to participate, though no language skills are required.
