ABOUT WEST END HOUSE GIRLS CAMP
West End House Girls Camp (WEHGC) is an overnight summer camp for girls ages 7-15, located in Southern Maine. Founded in 2011 as a nonprofit, The WEHGC experience is intentionally small, progressively multi-cultural, and 100% camper focused. The mission of WEHGC is to positively influence the lives of the girls by providing them with skills, support, and opportunities needed to grow into healthy, productive, and responsible women. West End is home to 194 girls each season, many of whom would not have the chance to experience camp due to financial limitations.
West End House Girls Camp’s Board of Directors is the governing body that oversees the vision, mission, and strategic plans of the organization. The volunteer board is made of up 6-12 members who each bring diverse skills and perspectives. Collectively, the board has significant industry expertise, nonprofit leadership, and deep ties to camp. These dedicated individuals devote their time, energy and skills to ensure the long-term prosperity of West End House Girls Camp for generations to come.
Core activities of the board include fundraising, financial planning, marketing, facilities management, alumni engagement, and oversight of executive staff.
