    Description

    Manna Ministries, Inc. is seeking a Social Media Volunteer to help support community outreach, event promotion, nonprofit storytelling, and public awareness for programs, projects, fundraising activities, and neighborhood-based service efforts.

    This volunteer opportunity is appropriate for individuals interested in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit service, community development, photography, content writing, social media posting, event promotion, and digital engagement.

    The volunteer may help prepare social media captions, event announcements, flyers, short posts, community updates, volunteer spotlights, fundraising messages, program highlights, and basic content calendars. The volunteer may also assist with promoting Manna Ministries, Inc. activities that support community outreach, youth and family engagement, food insecurity response, neighborhood cleanup, civic engagement, fundraising, and community development.

    Volunteer assignments will be based on the volunteer’s skills, availability, approved role, and Manna Ministries, Inc.’s current needs. All social media content must be reviewed and approved by Manna Ministries, Inc. leadership before posting or public release.

    Responsibilities May Include:

    1. Drafting social media captions for Facebook, Instagram, and other approved platforms.
    2. Helping promote upcoming events, fundraisers, meetings, workshops, and community projects.
    3. Assisting with simple content calendars and posting schedules.
    4. Preparing volunteer, donor, program, and community-service highlight posts.
    5. Helping organize approved photos, flyers, announcements, and outreach materials.
    6. Assisting with hashtags, public awareness messages, and community engagement content.
    7. Supporting event-day photo collection only when approved and when media consent requirements are met.
    8. Helping review posts for spelling, clarity, tone, and consistency.
    9. Maintaining confidentiality and protecting personal information of residents, youth, donors, volunteers, and participants.
    10. Following Manna Ministries, Inc. social media, branding, privacy, and approval procedures.

    Qualifications

    1. Interest in social media, communications, marketing, nonprofit outreach, or community service.
    2. Strong writing, spelling, grammar, and communication skills.
    3. Ability to write respectful, positive, and community-centered content.
    4. Dependability and ability to meet agreed-upon deadlines.
    5. Basic knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Canva, or similar tools preferred.
    6. Ability to follow instructions and accept edits before content is published.
    7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow photo/media consent requirements.
    8. Parent/legal guardian authorization required for volunteers under age 18.

    Please submit a brief statement of interest describing your social media, writing, design, photography, event promotion, or community outreach experience. A resume is not required but may be submitted if available. Samples of captions, flyers, Canva designs, or social media content may be submitted if available.

    If selected, volunteers under age 18 must submit a completed parent/legal guardian authorization form at or before orientation and before beginning volunteer service. All social media content, photos, flyers, captions, and public messages must be reviewed and approved by Manna Ministries, Inc. before posting or public release.
