Description
Summary: Receive and process items brought to Household Goods by donors.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure donors have a positive experience at Household Goods.
- Establish a polite and respectful relationship with the donors.
- Explain Household Goods’ mission and needs (items, volunteers, funding) to donors.
- Determine if items are acceptable (usable by clients, clean, functional, in good working order, with all parts).
- Inspect items for health and safety issues (e.g., stains, rips, broken or missing parts,mold, infestations, etc.)
- Respectfully refuse any items that do not meet Household Goods guidelines.
- Neatly and accurately complete Donor Receipts.
- Be able to explain how personal information is used.
- Enthusiastically thank donors for generous donations and encourage them to return.
- Display items neatly in appropriate locations or have furniture movers assist.
- Assemble items or label separate parts clearly.
- Keep all client and donor information confidential
