Volunteer Film Producer / Creative Director – Multimedia Pilot Track
Details
Description
About Us: The Steven Spectrum Career Project (SSCP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Long Island City, Queens, dedicated to empowering neurodivergent individuals through innovative workforce training and creative career tracks.
Project Purpose & Impact:
We are launching a brand-new permanent Performing Arts, Fashion, & Media workforce track. To prove our concept for future grant funding, we are executing a short-term "Proof-of-Concept Pilot Project": a high-fashion, deeply emotional, cinematic music video set to the song "Till Forever Falls Apart" by Finneas and Ashe. This holiday video will serve as a visual case study for our board and future donors. It also carries deep personal significance, celebrating the beauty of life, family resilience, and overcoming severe health limitations.
Role Description:
We are seeking one dynamic Volunteer Producer / Creative Director to take our executive directives and fully execute the logistics of this 1-day shoot. You will report directly to the Founder & Executive Director. Because our Founder is navigating recovery from a brain injury, your primary responsibility is to act as the logistical engine of this project so she can focus purely on artistic vision and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review our pre-drafted, turn-key micro-step manual and technical scripts.
- Assist the Founder by translating her artistic directives into a concrete production plan.
- Help recruit a small volunteer crew (Videographer, Editor, Stylist) using your own creative networks or university connections.
- Secure or coordinate equipment layout (ideally leveraging free rentals if applicable).
- Manage the 1-day shoot schedule, strictly enforcing built-in health/cognitive rest breaks for the talent.
Requirements:
- Background in film production, directing, or media studies (advanced students or emerging independent professionals highly encouraged).
- Strong organizational and collaborative communication skills.
- An interest in inclusive workforce spaces, neurodiversity advocacy, or community arts.
Time Commitment: Estimated 5–10 hours per week (may be more/depends on needs) for 4–6 weeks. The shoot will take place in a single 4-to-6-hour window in the NYC area.
