    Description

    Mission / About Us:

Blueprint for Womanhood (BFW) is a culturally grounded rites-of-passage program serving Black girls and their families in Metro Phoenix. Our mission is to support Black girls in developing confidence, leadership skills, cultural awareness, and a strong sense of self as they transition from Black girlhood into Black womanhood. BFW is the flagship impact program of Life Paradigms, Inc., a women-led nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering Black youth and their families through leadership development, culture, advocacy, and the arts.

    Role Overview

We are seeking a Volunteer Fundraiser to support Blueprint for Womanhood’s sustainability and growth.

This role is ideal for someone who understands that community-rooted programs require strategic resourcing and relationship building. You will support donor outreach, fundraising initiatives, and campaign strategy to help ensure BFW continues serving Black girls with excellence and integrity.

This is a soft-launch role, meaning fundraising systems and infrastructure are actively being strengthened. The volunteer will collaborate closely with leadership to help refine strategy, outreach processes, and donor engagement practices.

    What You’ll Do

    Fundraising Strategy & Campaign Support

    • Help develop and implement small-scale fundraising campaigns
    • Support seasonal or program-based fundraising initiatives
    • Assist in identifying creative, community-centered fundraising opportunities

    Donor Outreach & Relationship Support

    • Research potential individual, corporate, and community donors
    • Support drafting donor outreach emails and campaign messaging
    • Assist with donor tracking and stewardship processes

Events & Community Fundraising (Optional / If Local)

    • Support planning and promotion of fundraising events
    • Help coordinate community-based fundraising efforts
    • Assist with documenting impact for donor communications

    Systems & Infrastructure Support

    • Help build or refine donor tracking systems
    • Support organizing donor lists and engagement touchpoints
    • Assist with follow-up communications and gratitude practices

Who This Role Is Great For

    • Emerging or experienced fundraising or development professionals
    • Individuals interested in nonprofit sustainability and donor strategy
    • Community connectors who enjoy relationship-building
    • Those passionate about supporting Black-led, culturally grounded youth work

Skills & Experience (Preferred, Not Required)

    • Experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
    • Comfort with outreach (email, phone, or community engagement)
    • Organized and detail-oriented
    • Able to take initiative while collaborating closely with leadership

    Time Commitment

Flexible, approximately 5–10 hours per week.

Some weeks may require additional time during active campaigns or events.

This is a hybrid volunteer opportunity. Most work can be done remotely (research, outreach, strategy, communications). Local volunteers in Metro Phoenix are welcome to attend select events or donor activities to capture community moments and support in-person engagement, though this is optional.

    What You’ll Gain

    • Hands-on experience supporting a 31-year legacy program
    • Direct involvement in building nonprofit sustainability systems
    • Portfolio-ready experience in fundraising strategy and donor engagement
    • Meaningful contribution to the empowerment of Black girls and families
    • Connection to a Black-led, women-led organization grounded in culture and community
