    Description

    BOARD MEMBER RECRUITER

Legacy Paws Rescue is a veteran-owned 501(c)(3) dog rescue and sanctuary in Catawba, NC, and we are looking for one Board Development Consultant to help us build our first board of directors from scratch. We currently have no board — every decision, every dollar, and every dog has been managed by one founder alone — and that has to change for this rescue to survive and grow. Responsibilities include helping us define the roles and skill sets we need most urgently on a founding board, identifying and recruiting candidates, establishing basic governance expectations, and setting up a structure that actually functions rather than existing only on paper. The ideal volunteer has experience in nonprofit board development, governance, or executive leadership and is comfortable working with an organization that is building from zero with no existing governance documents or board history. Remote work is welcome and we are flexible on timeline. We are not looking for someone to sit on our board — we are looking for someone to help us build one.
