Volunteer School Tutor at Seeds of Hope

Seeds of Hope provides a safe, supportive environment to the poorest children in Huaraz, Peru, while encouraging them to stay in the education system and improve their future life prospects.

A day in the life of a volunteer:

9:00am - 11:00am: Volunteers have the opportunity to take Spanish classes to improve their language skills and better connect with the local community and children that come to Seeds of Hope.

3:00pm-5:00pm: Volunteers work alongside local staff to provide after-school tutoring and academic support to create a welcoming environment and support children with extra help in mathematics, reading, writing, and other homework assignments. Volunteers also encourage confidence and curiosity through positive mentorship. During this time, children also enjoy nutritious snacks and time socialize and play.

7:00pm-8:30pm (twice a week): Seeds of Hope also offers English classes for local adults. Volunteers are welcome to assist or teach these classes, providing an additional opportunity to engage with the community and support English language learning.
