Are you passionate about compassionate care, eager to gain hands-on healthcare experience, and looking for an internship that makes a meaningful difference? Join Brighton Hospice for an immersive and rewarding internship designed for students pursuing careers in public health, social work, healthcare administration, or related fields.
As a Brighton Hospice Public Health Intern, you’ll participate in a unique and enriching program that combines rotational shadowing with field-based companionship visits, as well as assisting with office administration, offering a comprehensive perspective on hospice care.
What You’ll Experience
- Shadow across key departments, including Administration, Human Resources, Intake, Volunteer Coordination, and Home Health Aide Support
- Observe interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings, gaining insight into collaborative care planning
- Accompany field teams—Social Workers, Registered Nurses, and Spiritual Care Coordinators—based on your interests and team availability
- Provide companionship to at least two patients, offering meaningful emotional support and experiencing direct patient interaction
- Engage in meaningful discussions about end-of-life care, communication, ethics, and holistic approaches to patient-centered services
