CRAFTT, Inc. (Cultural Research and Arts Foundation where Teaching meets Talent) is seeking committed professionals to join its Board of Directors as the organization enters a renewed period of growth and expands its cultural education, arts, public humanities, and community programming.

Founded in 2010 and based in Alexandria, Virginia, CRAFTT connects communities through creative expression, educational initiatives, cultural engagement, and public humanities programs that inspire learning, dialogue, and positive social impact.

We are currently prioritizing candidates with expertise in the following areas:

• Governance & Organizational Leadership
• Finance & Financial Oversight
• Development, Fundraising & Philanthropy
• Higher Education, Arts/Humanities & Institutional Partnerships
• Administration, Communications & Organizational Management

Board Directors provide governance, strategic oversight, financial stewardship, organizational advocacy, and support for CRAFTT's long-term sustainability. Directors are expected to participate actively in quarterly Board meetings, committee or project work as needed, organizational planning, and fundraising efforts.

CRAFTT values directors who bring substantial professional, academic, technical, creative, community, or organizational expertise relevant to the needs of the Board. Advanced education, including master's, doctoral, professional, or equivalent terminal degrees, is strongly preferred where relevant to the expertise being recruited. An advanced degree is not required, and significant professional experience, leadership, specialized credentials, entrepreneurship, community leadership, artistic or cultural practice, or other substantial accomplishments may demonstrate comparable expertise.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old. Board service is unpaid. Directors serve three-year terms and may serve up to two consecutive full terms. Meetings are primarily virtual, allowing CRAFTT to consider qualified candidates beyond Northern Virginia. CRAFTT's Board operates primarily virtually, and candidates may reside anywhere in the United States.

Newly elected directors are required to attend the initial organizational Board meeting in person in Alexandria, Virginia in early December 2026. During a director's term, attendance at the Annual Meeting is also required in person.

CRAFTT is particularly interested in individuals who value cultural education, the arts, public humanities, community engagement, responsible nonprofit governance, and the opportunity to help shape an organization entering its next chapter.
