    Role Summary:

The Volunteer Finance Specialist – Natural Capital Credit Markets (Plastic Credits) will support the financial analysis, market modeling, and economic evaluation of natural capital credit markets, with an initial emphasis on plastic credit mechanisms. This role will help assess market opportunities, pricing structures, investment models, and financing strategies that strengthen scalable environmental solutions and advance the Foundation's sustainability mission.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop financial models and market analyses for natural capital credit markets, with a primary focus on plastic credits.
    • Analyze market dynamics, pricing mechanisms, revenue models, and investment opportunities across emerging environmental credit markets.
    • Conduct research on plastic credits, extended producer responsibility (EPR), circular economy finance, and related market frameworks.
    • Evaluate project financial viability, funding structures, and return on environmental and social impact.
    • Support the development of investment cases, financial forecasts, and strategic recommendations for natural capital initiatives.
    • Collaborate with program, research, and partnerships teams to align financial strategies with project objectives and emerging market opportunities.

    Requirements:

    • Background in finance, economics, accounting, environmental finance, business, or a related field.
    • Experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, market research, or investment analysis.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in Excel or other financial modeling and data analysis tools.
    • Interest in or willingness to develop expertise in natural capital credit markets, particularly plastic credits.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Familiarity with natural capital markets, plastic credits, carbon markets, biodiversity credits, or other environmental finance mechanisms.
    • Experience with impact investing, sustainability finance, ESG analysis, or circular economy initiatives.
    • Experience working on nonprofit, environmental, or impact-driven projects.
    • Understanding of climate finance, resource recovery, waste management, or the economic implications of environmental markets.

    Why Volunteer with Us:

Your expertise will help shape innovative financial models that unlock investment in emerging natural capital markets and accelerate scalable environmental solutions. By supporting the development of robust financing strategies for plastic credits and related market mechanisms, you will contribute to building sustainable systems that generate lasting environmental, social, and economic impact.
