As a hospice volunteer, you’ll learn:

    • Patient communication and bedside presence
    • Compassionate care and active listening
    • How the hospice IDT team works together
    • Real-life experience with charting, documentation, and professionalism
    • The emotional side of healthcare and family support

A strong hospice volunteer reference letter can help strengthen applications for:

    • PA Programs
    • Nursing School
    • Medical School
    • Social Work Programs
    • CNA/CMA programs
    • Scholarships and healthcare internships

Volunteers provide companionship visits, conversation, music, games, reading, tuck-in calls, and support for patients and caregivers. Most visits are about 1 hour a week, and volunteers choose their schedule.

No medical experience needed. Training provided.
