Volunteer-Internship: Women's Livelihoods and Enterprise

Work with village and Gaddi women on skills and small businesses that pay their way.

What you will do

• Meet women's groups and map the skills already there.
• Shape one small business idea with a group, using real costs.
• Write a short plan that names the risks and how to handle them.

Who this is for

• Students and graduates of social work, development, gender studies or business.
• You listen first and suggest later.
• You keep training, volunteering and paid work clearly apart when you talk to people.

What you get

• Your own project inside the programme once you know the field.
• Strong volunteer-interns can later apply for our Fellowship.
• A free letter confirming your dates and your work when you finish.

What it costs

This placement is unpaid. A monthly fee covers your shared room, meals, internet, training, mentoring, local transport for the work, and the papers for your visa.

• From abroad: USD 810 for one month, USD 1,350 for three, USD 1,980 for six, plus a refundable USD 45 deposit. You need health and evacuation insurance.
• From India: ₹9,000 a month for one month, falling to ₹3,000 a month for six, plus a refundable ₹1,500 deposit for some housing.
• Not included: flights, visa fees and insurance.
• Group discounts and scholarships can lower the fee.
• The fee is less than your stay costs us.
