Volunteer Position Summary
The Garden & Horticulture Volunteer Coordinator will assist with maintaining and beautifying the property through seasonal planting and gardening projects while also creating meaningful gardening experiences for residents.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone passionate about gardening, community service, senior engagement, wellness, and nature-based activities.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Plant and maintain flowers, shrubs, and seasonal greenery on the property
- Assist with beautifying outdoor garden areas and raised garden beds
- Organize simple gardening activities with residents
- Encourage resident participation in planting herbs, flowers, and vegetables
- Help residents enjoy therapeutic and social gardening experiences
- Provide ideas for seasonal gardening projects and outdoor beautification
- Support light watering and upkeep of garden areas as needed
Qualifications
- Interest or experience in gardening, landscaping, horticulture, or community gardening
- Compassion and patience when working with older adults
- Friendly, dependable, and creative
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- No professional gardening certification required
Schedule
Volunteer days and times are flexible and can be negotiated based on availability and seasonal needs.
