Description
Reptile & Invertebrate Care Volunteer – Level 1
Level 1 Caretakers play a vital role in the daily care and cleanliness of EcoVivarium's habitats, supporting the health and well-being of our rescued animals while building foundational animal care skills.
Responsibilities Include:
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of reptile and invertebrate enclosures
- Refreshing water, spot cleaning, and maintaining sanitary conditions
- Assisting with basic habitat upkeep and organization
- Observing animal behavior and reporting concerns to senior staff
Experience & Skills:
- Basic comfort & familiarity with reptiles is required
- Ideal candidates have moderate experience handling lizards and snakes
- Experience with invertebrates (such as tarantulas, scorpions, beetles, or exotic roaches) is a plus
- Comfortable working around a variety of species in a hands-on environment
Schedule Commitment:
We are seeking individuals who can commit to a regular weekly schedule, ideally 1–2 days per week for a minimum of 3 hours per visit. Consistency is essential to maintaining high standards of care and supporting the team effectively.
