    Transportation Support Volunteer

    Transportation Support Volunteer – Position Description (Women Only)

    The Transportation Support Volunteer plays an important role in helping residents safely access essential appointments, community activities, and program events. This volunteer provides reliable, compassionate transportation support while representing Lydia’s House of Hope with kindness, professionalism, and respect.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide safe and timely transportation for residents to scheduled appointments, errands, court dates, and activities.
    • Maintain clear communication with staff regarding pick-up and drop-off times.
    • Ensure all passengers follow safety protocols, including seatbelts and appropriate car-seat use when needed.
    • Demonstrate patience, discretion, and a supportive attitude with all residents.
    • Respect confidentiality and uphold the values and mission of Lydia’s House of Hope.
    • Notify staff of any concerns or schedule changes as soon as possible.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
    • Dependable, punctual, and comfortable interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    • Ability to maintain boundaries and follow agency policies.
    • Commitment to the safety and well-being of all riders.

    Time Commitment:

    Flexible—based on volunteer availability and program. Volunteers may choose one-time, weekly, or on-call opportunities.

    Impact:

    Transportation Support Volunteers help remove barriers for residents, making it possible for them to attend medical appointments, court obligations, job interviews, classes, and family activities. Their service supports healing, independence, and hope.
