    Description

    Vika Gallery seeks a dedicated Gallery & Arts Administration Volunteer to support daily gallery operations, exhibitions, and nonprofit administrative activities. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in contemporary art, nonprofit arts organizations, and hands-on gallery experience while contributing meaningfully to a community-focused arts space.

    Volunteer Schedule

    Wednesday–Saturday, 12:00 PM–5:00 PM

    (Flexible scheduling may be available)

    Volunteer Role & Experience

    Volunteers will gain exposure to the inner workings of a contemporary gallery and nonprofit arts organization, working closely with gallery staff in a collaborative and professional environment.

    Responsibilities

    Gallery & Exhibition Support

    • Create and update artwork labels for exhibitions
    • Greet and assist gallery visitors, artists, and partners
    • Support exhibition installations, openings, and public programs
    • Help maintain a welcoming, organized gallery space

    Cataloging & Documentation

    • Assist with artwork cataloging and inventory management
    • Organize digital and physical records related to artists and exhibitions
    • Support documentation of exhibitions and programs

    Administrative & Grant Support

    • Assist with general administrative tasks
    • Support the Assistant Grant Manager with organizing materials, tracking deadlines, and collecting data for grant reporting
    • Help maintain internal records and program documentation

    Ideal Volunteer

    • Interest in contemporary art, nonprofit work, or arts administration
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Comfortable interacting with the public in a professional setting
    • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively
