    SEVA Travelers spend 4 -5 days with the organization (mornings on-site, afternoons exploring--enough time to collect information for the project). They continue the engagement virtually, meeting via Zoom for 1-3 months to complete the deliverable

    By sharing our expertise with NGOs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), SEVA Travelers’ pro bono consultants, coaches and trainers are empowering the next generation of social entrepreneurs with the skills they need to succeed.

    Pro-bono Consulting Services

    S.E.V.A. Travelers offers great nonprofits in Asia, Latin America, and Africa free consulting services to achieve greater scale and impact. This pro bono support includes:

    • Grant proposal writing (and training staff how to write winning grant proposals)
    • Foundation and corporate funding prospect research
    • Fundraising strategy development
    • Website design and development
    • Social media, marketing, and communications support
    • Fundraising Databases/software
    • Designing Monitoring, Learning & Evaluation systems

    SEVA Travelers has partnered with GlobalGiving to identify great nonprofits in low- and middle-income countries. Together we have reached out to almost a thousand NGOs in the Global South about our suite of pro bono consulting services and the possibility of hosting a SEVA Traveler. Thanks to this exciting partnership, S.E.V.A.     SEVA Travelers offers 18 host organizations to choose from in Kenya, spanning eight diverse regions across the country—Nairobi, Kisumu County, Nakuru County, Murang’a County, Kakamega County, Narok County, Turkana County, and Tharaka-Nithi County. These destinations offer volunteers the opportunity to engage in initiatives that promote education, women’s empowerment, youth leadership, climate resilience, and community development while experiencing Kenya’s rich cultural heritage and natural landscapes.

    These vetted and verified NGOs include:

    Roko 20 Academy — Mukuyu-Kambirwa, Murang’a County

    A rural primary school providing free education, food, and essentials to underprivileged children.

    Garden of Hope Foundation — Nairobi

    Empowers youth and women through education, entrepreneurship, and mentorship programs.

    We Reach — Kakamega County

    A community organization focused on capacity-building and expanding networks to support social development initiatives.

    Riley Orton Foundation (ROF) — Kisumu County

    A grassroots organization advancing girls’ education, community development, and sustainability through local empowerment.

    Patinaai Osim Community Care Organisation — Kenyewa, Narok County

    Supports education, women’s rights, and environmental conservation in Maasai communities.

    Save the Pastoralists Kenya (STP) — Lodwar, Turkana County

    Works with pastoralist communities to restore grazing lands, promote climate resilience, and sustain livelihoods.

    Lifesong Kenya — Ngong, Kajiado County

    Provides rehabilitation and education programs for boys and young men in conflict with the law.

    Saidika Organization — Nairobi

    Focuses on community empowerment, gender equality, and youth development through education and training.

    Volunteers Foundation — Nairobi

    Supports educational access and youth development through volunteer engagement and fundraising initiatives.

    AgeWatch Africa Foundation (AAF) — Kisumu County

    Advocates for elder rights and care services through health initiatives and social protection programs.

    Sports for Change — Nairobi

    Uses sports and physical activity to raise funds for education in marginalized communities.

    Village Hopecore International — Chogoria, Tharaka-Nithi County

    Promotes microenterprise, public health, and women’s empowerment in rural Kenyan communities.

    Kalyet Afya Foundation (KAF) — Nakuru County

    Improves access to healthcare, education, and livelihood opportunities through community-based initiatives.

    Tushirikiane Africa Trust (TUSA Trust) — Nairobi

    Empowers marginalized groups through advocacy, education, and fundraising for sustainable community programs.

    Community Focus Group (CFG) — Nairobi

    Strengthens grassroots leadership and supports youth, women, and community-driven projects through partnerships and training.

    Men End FGM Foundation — Nairobi

    Advocates for gender equality and the eradication of Female Genital Mutilation through education and advocacy campaigns.

    Empower and Serve Kenya (EmpServe) — Nairobi / Maasai region

    Leads the “Africa’s Most Sustainable Village” project, integrating digital inclusion, climate-smart agriculture, and youth empowerment.

    The Nasio Trust — Mumias West Sub-County, Kakamega County

    Supports vulnerable children and families through education, healthcare, and social enterprise programs.
