    Description

    About the Project

We are a small, high-impact grassroots effort supporting nine displaced Palestinian families in Gaza. Over the past year, we have built direct, personal relationships with each family and have distributed over $65,000 in aid.

This is not a large, impersonal charity. We stay closely connected with the families, following their day-to-day realities — from urgent needs like food and shelter to moments of resilience, joy, and hope. Our goal is to provide consistent weekly support while also helping families move toward long-term self-sufficiency.

We maintain direct, ongoing relationships with each family, stay in regular communication about their needs, and take reasonable steps to ensure funds are used for basic living expenses, including screening adult recipients against publicly available sanctions lists.

    Role Overview

We are seeking a highly reliable and proactive volunteer to help ensure consistent weekly fundraising and support basic economic development efforts for the families.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable with outreach, organized, and able to follow through consistently week to week.

Time commitment: Approximately 1–2 hours per week per function (2–4 hours total if covering both areas). Additional time is welcome but not required.

Consistency is essential in this role, as families rely on weekly support for basic needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    Weekly Fundraising Coordination

    • Raise approximately $1,600 per week from a combination of:
      • Our existing donor base (~30 active donors)
      • New donor outreach and relationship-building
    • Follow up with past donors and maintain consistent communication
    • Identify and engage potential new supporters
    • Take ownership of ensuring weekly fundraising goals are met

    Monthly Donor Communications (Newsletter)

    • Produce and send a monthly newsletter to donors
    • Report on:
      • Funds disbursed
      • Current needs of the families
      • Updates and communications from Gaza
    • Communicate directly with key contacts in Gaza (in English) to gather information to include
    • Curate and include photos and updates from families
    • Upload and share short video updates (e.g., via YouTube)

Economic Self-Sufficiency Support (Optional/Can be separate role)

    • Research opportunities to help beneficiaries make money online (e.g., on tutoring platforms)
    • Help set up and market profiles for individuals (e.g., language tutoring)
    • Think creatively about sustainable, remote-friendly work options

    What We’re Looking For

    • Comfortable asking for financial support in a respectful, relationship-based way
    • Strong writing and communication skills (for donor updates)
    • Highly reliable and committed — able to follow through and produce results week to week
    • Able to take ownership of ensuring weekly fundraising goals are met
    • Organized and detail-oriented
    • Internet research skills (for self-sufficiency support); Excel and YouTube skills also helpful
    • Interest in humanitarian work and direct impact

Prior fundraising experience is not required but would be a plus.

    Why This Role Matters

The families we support rely on weekly assistance for basic needs like food and shelter. Consistency is critical — gaps in funding directly impact their well-being.

At the same time, we are working toward helping families rebuild independence through remote income opportunities. Your contribution can make a tangible, immediate difference.
