    Description

    Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Governance: Advise executive leadership on organizational scaling, partnership models, and strategic planning to meet our 2029 milestone.Fundraising & Resource Mobilization: Actively assist in identifying international grant opportunities, corporate sponsorships, and individual donor networks to ensure fiscal sustainability.Ambassadorship: Champion BUCB's mission within your professional networks, industry circles, or diaspora communities to elevate our global profile.Committee Participation: Serve on at least one specialized board committee (e.g., Finance & Fundraising, Global Partnerships, Curriculum & Mentorship, or Marketing & Tech).Fiduciary Oversight: Review and approve annual budgets, audit financial statements, and ensure compliance with international non-profit best practices.Qualifications & ExpertiseWe are looking for diverse profiles. You do not need to check every box, but we are looking for proven leadership in at least one of the following areas:Global Fundraising / Grant Writing: Prior experience connecting African NGOs with international institutional donors, foundations, or venture philanthropy.EdTech & Corporate Partnerships: Human Resources, recruiting, or tech professionals who understand global hiring trends and can bridge relationships with multinational employers.International Non-Profit Governance: Experience serving on a non-profit board, understanding structural compliance and strategic scaling.Burundian Diaspora Leaders: Active members of regional or global diaspora networks eager to drive sustainable human capital development back home.General Requirements:A deep, authentic commitment to youth empowerment and economic development in Africa.Professional proficiency in English (working language of international boards) or French.Strong collaborative skills and comfort working across digital tools (Zoom, Slack, Google Drive) across multiple time zones.What We OfferThe opportunity to directly impact the lives of thousands of young professionals and shape the socio-economic future of Burundi.A collaborative seat alongside a deeply driven, innovative team of youth leaders.An expansion of your own global network within the international development and social impact space.Commitment DetailsTerm: 2-year renewable term.Meetings: 4 virtual board meetings per year (quarterly), plus occasional committee check-ins.Total time commitment is estimated at 3–5 hours per month, flexible around your professional schedule.How to ApplyPlease submit your resume/CV and a brief statement of interest detailing why you want to support youth employability in Burundi and which core area of expertise you bring to the table directly via Idealist
