Description
Volunteer Family & Agency Liaison | Justice for James Irby Sr. Foundation | Remote
The Justice for James Irby Sr. Foundation seeks a thoughtful, highly organized volunteer to help coordinate communication with families and approved partner organizations.
Founded in honor of James Anthony Irby Sr., the foundation is developing a structured way to consider requests from other families affected by unsolved violent crimes. The liaison will help people understand that process, keep communications organized, and ensure questions reach the right foundation team member.
What you’ll do
- Respond to assigned inquiries from families and partner organizations using approved information.
- Help applicants understand how to submit a case application and supporting materials.
- Track communications, requested documents, follow-up dates, and referrals.
- Coordinate introductions or meetings after the foundation authorizes them.
- Share approved updates with families in a clear and respectful manner.
- Bring concerns, urgent questions, and service gaps to foundation leadership.
Who we’re looking for
A steady communicator who listens well, follows through, and handles sensitive information with care. Experience in victim services, community outreach, social work, nonprofit programs, or agency coordination is helpful. Strong written communication and digital recordkeeping skills are important.
The liaison does not promise that the foundation will accept a case, speak for a family without authorization, or direct an investigation. Case acceptance follows the foundation’s review and board decision process.
