    Description

    BOOKKEEPER / FINANCIAL SYSTEMS VOLUNTEER

Legacy Paws Rescue is a veteran-owned 501(c)(3) dog rescue and sanctuary in Catawba, NC, and we are looking for one Bookkeeper or Nonprofit Finance Volunteer to help us build basic financial systems we currently do not have. We track income and expenses but have no formal budget, no chart of accounts, no financial reporting structure, and no clear picture of what it actually costs us to operate — which makes grant applications, board recruitment, and long-term planning significantly harder. Responsibilities include setting up a simple bookkeeping structure appropriate for our size, helping us build a working annual budget, and creating a basic financial summary we can present to funders and future board members. The ideal volunteer has experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or nonprofit financial management, is comfortable working with a very small organization starting from minimal records, and can work remotely. Experience with QuickBooks, Wave, or other small nonprofit accounting tools is helpful. We will pull together all available financial records — receipts, bank statements, donation history — and come fully prepared to every session.
