Job Summary:
The Finance Associate plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organization by ensuring that all internal and external financial processes are accurate, compliant, and timely. This position supports the finance team in managing financial strategies, ensuring positive financial health, and overseeing accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. You’ll help transform financial accounting data into meaningful insights that guide more intelligent decision-making and support our mission of empowering small businesses and community-focused organizations through transparent financial analysis and management. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging financial professional to gain real-world experience in financial analysis, ratio analysis, reporting, cash flow management, and client collaboration while developing both technical and analytical skills in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Gather and analyze financial data from key reports.
- Review financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow).
- Prepare financial reports using Excel and Word.
- Build dashboards and visual reports (charts and graphs).
- Perform ratio and KPI analysis.
- Support strategic analyses (SWOT, PESTLE, Porter’s Five Forces, SMART).
- Assist with investment and corporate finance analysis.
- Collaborate with the team on key metrics.
- Present and communicate financial insights.
- Support risk management planning.
Qualifications:
- Recent undergraduate student or graduate.
- Bachelor’s or master's in Finance or Accounting and/or related field.
- Certifications in Finance or Accounting (preferred).
- Strong communication skills, organized, and time management.
- Fully remote — no travel required. Preference for candidates located in New Jersey.
- No prior experience required — all are encouraged to apply.
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Power BI
- Financial analysis and modeling
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail, financial accuracy, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute to team efforts.
- Understanding of accounting, financial reporting, investments, risk management, and corporate finance.
