FUNDRAISING STRATEGIST

Legacy Paws Rescue is a veteran-owned 501(c)(3) dog rescue and sanctuary in Catawba, NC, and we are looking for one Fundraising Strategist to help us build a donor and sponsorship program from the ground up. Every dollar we have raised has come in organically — we have never run a campaign, built a donor list, or approached a corporate sponsor, largely because the founder is a one-woman operation who finds the ask uncomfortable. Responsibilities include helping us identify and cultivate individual donors, develop a corporate sponsorship outreach strategy, plan and execute at least one fundraising campaign, and build a simple repeatable system the founder can maintain going forward. The ideal volunteer has experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor development, or development strategy, is patient with a founder who is still building confidence around asking for support, and is comfortable working remotely with a small grassroots organization. Any experience with animal welfare fundraising or small nonprofit development is a plus. We are not looking for someone to do this for us — we are looking for someone to teach us how to do it ourselves.
