    Description

    Volunteer Position Summary

    The Knitting, Crochet & Quilting Volunteer will engage residents through hands-on crafting activities that encourage creativity, conversation, relaxation, and social interaction. Volunteers may teach beginner techniques, assist residents with projects, and help create enjoyable group crafting sessions.

    This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy sewing arts, crafting, teaching others, and spending time with older adults.

    Volunteer Responsibilities

    • Lead knitting, crochet, quilting, or sewing-based activities with residents
    • Teach beginner-friendly crafting techniques
    • Assist residents with simple projects and creative ideas
    • Encourage social interaction and participation during activities
    • Help organize crafting materials and supplies
    • Create a calm, supportive, and enjoyable atmosphere
    • Support seasonal or community-based craft projects if desired

    Qualifications

    • Experience or interest in knitting, crochet, quilting, sewing, or fiber arts
    • Friendly, patient, and compassionate personality
    • Comfortable working with older adults
    • Dependable and encouraging attitude
    • Teaching or group activity experience is helpful but not required

    Schedule

    Volunteer days and times are flexible and can be negotiated based on availability.
