    Description

    Committee Chair – Volunteer Role Overview

    The Committee Chair is a leadership role within South Project, responsible for guiding a volunteer committee to plan, organize, and execute key community events, including our Annual Community Baby Shower and other programs.

    This role is ideal for someone who is organized, people-focused, and passionate about creating meaningful experiences for young mothers and families in our community.

    Key Responsibilities

    Committee Leadership & Coordination

      • Lead a volunteer committee and assign responsibilities
      • Guide planning discussions and ensure deadlines are met
      • Serve as the main liaison between the committee and South Project staff

    Event Planning & Execution

      • Collaborate with staff to coordinate logistics, timelines, and event goals
      • Support fundraising and in-kind donation efforts as needed
      • Ensure smooth execution on event day, including setup, volunteer coordination, and cleanup

    Volunteer & Stakeholder Communication

      • Maintain regular communication with committee members
      • Help recruit and engage volunteers to support committee initiatives
      • Assist with recognition of volunteers, donors, and community partners

    Record-Keeping & Reporting

      • Maintain committee records, progress updates, and post-event feedback
      • Track donations, volunteer participation, and event metrics

    Time Commitment

      • 2–4 hours per month, with additional involvement leading up to major events
      • Flexible schedule, with increased activity in the month(s) before each event
