Compeer Chester County matches each volunteer with someone who is referred by a professional. These friendships boost self-esteem, reduce loneliness, and increase well-being. And they can be fun! Matched pairs spend time doing whatever activities they both enjoy, such as meeting for coffee or a meal, shopping, bowling, or attending a community event. Keeping in touch by phone or text also can be part of it.

Volunteers receive training and can choose their friend. Pairs are matched up based on shared interests, location, and other factors. After you meet your friend, staff provide ongoing support. Occasional group events give you a chance to spend time with other Compeer matches too.
