Volunteer TikTok Lead | Run Our Chaos Department | Remote | 3–5 hrs/week
Details
Description
Legacy Paws has 7,000+ photos and videos. Some of them are heartwarming. A lot of them are unhinged.
A slug on the founder's mouth at 3:30am. A giant spider fleeing into a crate, followed by a dog who was just as scared. A dog who ran on a wheel every single time before she pooped. A Halloween skeleton that grabbed a very confused dog. Puppies who drink water like they've never seen it before.
This footage belongs on TikTok, and we need someone to put it there.
Every Legacy Paws platform has its own personality. Instagram belongs to the dogs. Facebook is the town square. TikTok is the Chaos Department: the weirdest, funniest, most unexpected side of running a dog rescue.
You'll own it. Your voice, your edits, your ideas.
How it works
Each week, our content calendar sets the goals: maybe it's a fundraising push, a call for fosters, a new partner to spotlight, or an event to promote. You decide how the Chaos Department tackles them. We tell you what we need people to do. You use your talents to make them want to do it.
What you'll do
- Turn our library of raw footage into TikToks people watch twice and send to their friends
- Turn our weekly goals (fundraising, recruiting fosters and volunteers, finding adopters, spotlighting partners) into TikToks that feel like entertainment, not announcements
- Build recurring series and running jokes, like the Washing Machine Chronicles (yes, the washing machine has opinions)
- Develop characters out of our dogs, our founder, and the objects around the rescue
- Use trends only when we can make them ours
- Reply to comments and build a community that keeps coming back for the next episode
- Check in with and share what's working with our social media manager weekly so we can keep improving
What we're not looking for
Generic rescue TikTok. Sad music over sad photos. Manufactured "viral" moments. If another rescue could copy our account by swapping out the logo, we're doing it wrong.
Who we're looking for
Someone who already speaks TikTok fluently. You know what makes people stop scrolling, you can edit in CapCut or TikTok's built-in tools, and you have a sense of comedic timing. Rescue experience isn't required. Loving dogs and weirdness is.
The details
- Remote. All the footage is in a shared library, and visits to our 5-acre sanctuary in Catawba, NC are welcome if you want to film your own.
- About 3–5 hours per week, flexible schedule
- Reports to the Social Media Manager
- You'll have creative ownership of how the account meets our goals. We'll check in on what's working, but we won't rewrite your posts.
