Community Acupuncture/AcuDetox Program Support Volunteer at Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA)

Are you interested in holistic wellness, community care, and helping create a calm, welcoming space for others?

Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA) offers weekly Community Acupuncture/AcuDetox sessions every Thursday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at our Heart-Centered Yoga Studio in Lafayette. We are looking for two dedicated volunteers, age 18 or older, to help us create a calm, organized, and welcoming experience for participants each week.

Volunteers arrive at approximately 3:30 p.m. and stay until about 5:30 p.m.

A trained practitioner provides all acupuncture/AcuDetox services. Volunteers support the program by helping with setup, hospitality, participant check-in, and caring for the shared studio space.

What you will do:

1. 1. Prepare the Heart-Centered Yoga Studio before participants arrive
   2. Set out and organize mats, bolsters, blocks, blankets, and chairs before participants arrive
   3. Welcome participants and help create a calm, comfortable environment
   4. Assist with check-in, waivers, and program surveys
   5. Help return mats, bolsters, blocks, blankets, chairs, and other program supplies to their proper places after the session
   6. Keep shared spaces and supplies clean and organized
   7. Participating in the acupuncture session while remaining available to assist
   8. Help tidy and reset the studio after the program

Who we are looking for:

No acupuncture experience or clinical background is required. We are looking for someone who is reliable, welcoming, organized, comfortable working in a survivor-centered environment, and interested in holistic wellness and community support.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and generally available Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

MESA is Boulder County’s sexual violence resource center and provides free and confidential advocacy, support, holistic programming, and community education to people impacted by sexual violence.
