    Description

AmeriCorps Legacy Corps for Veterans and Military Families is looking for individuals to service as respite volunteers throughout your community. Our volunteers provide friendship to an older adult which allows the family caregiver a well-deserved break to run errands or rest.

We are providing in-home visits and phone reassurance. Please join in helping reach out to caregivers and their loved ones during this time.

    • No experience or diploma required - we’ll provide all necessary training
    • Volunteers receive monthly living allowance and end of service education award
    • Time commitment of 300 or 450 hours a year (6-8 hours a week)
    • Flexible scheduling
    • Older adult and companion are carefully matched based on individual needs and interests
    • Must be 17+ years old to volunteer
    • Volunteers receive monthly living allowance and end of service education award
    • We strongly encourage volunteers who are people of color, indigenous, immigrants and refugees, LGBTQ+ and people with disabilities to apply
