    Description

    Position Overview

    Join our dedicated team as administrative member and become a vital part of our community’s safety and emergency response efforts. No experience necessary!

    In this volunteer role, you will provide critical administrative assistance for a Vounteer organization focused on providing emergency services for our community. RBVFC offers several benefits, including collegiate level classes/credit, tax credits, property tax incentives, reitrement benefits, access to discounts and many more!

    In this role, you will support our first responders by providing key administrative support in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to finance, infrastructure, purchasing, logistics and fundraising. Our administrative vounteers are the backbone of our team, and ensure that our first responders can do their job effectively. This role does NOT require members to respond to emergency calls.

    Member requirements:

    • 16 years old at time of application.
    • Able to commit at least 8 hours a month to meetings, fundraisers, administrative tasks and event coordination.
    • Submission to a FBI background check and fingerprinting.
    • Ability to obtain CPR certification within 90 days (training will be provided by RBVFC free to you.)

    Benefits:

    • Free college level classes through the University of Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, including Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Hazardous Materials Technician, Fire Inspector, etc. These classes can be transferred for college credits to participating state and local colleges.
    • Station-paid state and national certifications.*
    • Scholarship oppurtunities through both the station and State of MD.
    • $7,000 MD State income tax credit.**
    • $7,500 Anne Arundel County Property Tax credit.**
    • Access to Vettix, which provides free and largely discounted tickets to concerts, sports events and other ticketed events.
    • Live-in oppurtunities - you can live at our fire station RENT FREE. We have a full bunk room, kitchen, locker room, gym and recreational areas.
    • Company paid meals for Volunteers who are on shift.
    • Free travel, lodging, meals and admission to NDPC classes around the country, including Texas, Nevada, Alabama and others. These classes can be transferred for college credit to participating state and local colleges.
    • Free uniforms, and yearly uniform allowance.
    • Retirement stipend provided after alloted years in service.**
    • *Please note this is a non-paid, volunteer only position. There is no hourly or salary provided by RBVFC for this volunteer position.**
    • Subject to certification requirements being met.
    • *Subject to requirements of time-in-service set forth by the state.
