    SEVA Travelers spend 4 -5 days with the organization (mornings on-site, afternoons exploring--enough time to collect information for the project). They continue the engagement virtually, meeting via Zoom for 1-3 months to complete the deliverable

    By sharing our expertise with NGOs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), SEVA Travelers’ pro bono consultants, coaches and trainers are empowering the next generation of social entrepreneurs with the skills they need to succeed.

    Pro-bono Consulting Services

    S.E.V.A. Travelers offers great nonprofits in Asia, Latin America, and Africa free consulting services to achieve greater scale and impact. This pro bono support includes:

    • Grant proposal writing (and training staff how to write winning grant proposals)
    • Foundation and corporate funding prospect research
    • Fundraising strategy development
    • Website design and development
    • Social media, marketing, and communications support
    • Fundraising Databases/software
    • Designing Monitoring, Learning & Evaluation systems

    SEVA Travelers has partnered with GlobalGiving to identify great nonprofits in low- and middle-income countries. Together we have reached out to almost a thousand NGOs in the Global South about our suite of pro bono consulting services and the possibility of hosting a SEVA Traveler. Thanks to this exciting partnership, S.E.V.A.     Directions

    SEVA Travelers offers six host organizations to choose from in Guatemala, spanning five distinct regions across the country—Sololá, Jocotenango, Ciudad Vieja, Chimaltenango, and Quetzaltenango. These placements allow volunteers to contribute to initiatives that promote education, women’s empowerment, sustainable development, clean energy access, and community resilience. While supporting local NGOs, volunteers will also experience Guatemala’s rich cultural heritage, Indigenous traditions, and breathtaking landscapes.

    These vetted and verified NGOs include:

    Mayanza — Canton Tzanchaj, Santiago Atitlán, Sololá

    A health and education-focused NGO supporting women, children, and schools in Santiago Atitlán. Volunteers will help with storytelling, impact communication, and identifying funding sources while preserving local culture and traditions.

    Education for the Children (EFTC) — Jocotenango

    Provides education and social support to children and families living in poverty. Volunteers can assist with developing fundraising strategies, identifying grants, and improving monitoring and evaluation systems.

    Niños de Guatemala — Ciudad Vieja

    Runs schools and social programs for vulnerable children and families. Volunteers will support grant writing, social media strategy, and monitoring and evaluation to advance organizational goals.

    Kateri Tekakwitha Fund — Chimaltenango

    Empowers women and girls through education and leadership development. Volunteers will help design a sustainable funding strategy, strengthen outreach and donor management, and explore local funding opportunities.

    Poder y Luz Maya ONG — Quetzaltenango

    Expands access to clean energy and digital learning through solar-powered education centers in rural communities. Volunteers can assist in grant writing, proposal development, and creating international partnerships to expand the Solar Center Project.

    Highland Partners — Quetzaltenango

    Supports women’s empowerment, community development, and sustainable livelihoods in Guatemala’s highlands. Volunteers will contribute to fundraising strategy, CRM implementation, donor communications, and board development to enhance sustainability and impact.
