    Volunteer Board Secretary – Grief's Light Outreach

    Help bring hope and support to mothers navigating child loss while helping strengthen a growing faith-based nonprofit.

    About Grief's Light Outreach

    Grief's Light Outreach is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting mothers who have experienced the loss of a child. Through comfort boxes, support gatherings, prayer, encouragement, and community connections, we provide hope and compassionate support during life's most difficult seasons.

    Position Summary

    We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and dependable Volunteer Board Secretary to support our growing nonprofit organization. The Secretary plays an important role in maintaining accurate records, supporting board communications, and helping ensure effective organizational governance.

    Responsibilities

    • Record and maintain board meeting minutes
    • Assist with scheduling board meetings and sending reminders
    • Maintain organizational records and important documents
    • Track board actions and follow-up items
    • Support board communications and correspondence as needed
    • Assist with maintaining organizational compliance records
    • Collaborate with the Founder and Board of Directors

    Qualifications

    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Comfortable using email, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, or similar software
    • Dependable and responsive
    • Passion for serving others and supporting the mission of Grief's Light Outreach
    • Prior administrative, nonprofit, church, or board experience is helpful but not required

    Time Commitment

    Approximately 3–5 hours per month, including attendance at board meetings and occasional administrative support.

    Compensation

    Volunteer position with the potential for future stipend compensation based on organizational growth, funding, and board approval.
