    🧑‍🏫 Volunteer ESL Instructor (Military Families)

    Organization: VET Global Impact

    Location: Remote (via Zoom)

    Schedule: 2 evenings per week, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM CST

    Commitment: Part-time, shared teaching rotation

    About VET Global Impact VET Global Impact is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the spouses and dependents of U.S. military service members—especially those from diverse international backgrounds. Our mission is to help these families thrive in their new communities by offering free English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction. Through language education, we empower military families to access resources, pursue education and employment, and build lasting connections.

    Volunteer Opportunity We are currently seeking three passionate volunteer ESL instructors to join our teaching team. Classes are held twice a week via Zoom, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM CST, and instructors rotate responsibilities to ensure flexibility and continuity. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact in the lives of military families adjusting to life in the U.S.

    Responsibilities

    • Teach beginner and intermediate ESL classes in a supportive, culturally sensitive environment
    • Collaborate with fellow instructors to plan lessons and share feedback
    • Encourage student participation and build confidence in communication
    • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of non-traditional learners
    • Maintain a welcoming and respectful virtual classroom

    Qualifications

    • Experience teaching or tutoring ESL preferred (but not required)
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Passion for education, service, and supporting military families
    • Comfortable using Zoom and basic digital teaching tools
    • Ability to commit to at least one session per week
