    Description

    Break Free: Mental Health, Healing & Hope for Survivors is seeking an organized, dependable Volunteer Events Coordinator / Events Manager to help plan and execute community events and fundraisers that support survivors of sexual violence and raise awareness around prevention and healing.

    This is a non-board, volunteer role focused on logistics, coordination, and execution. The Events Coordinator works closely with the Founder and volunteers to ensure events are thoughtfully planned, well-run, and aligned with Break Free’s survivor-centered values.

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan, coordinate, and support Break Free events (fundraisers, awareness events, community gatherings)
    • Create event timelines, task lists, and logistical plans
    • Coordinate vendors, venues, volunteers, and event details
    • Support event promotion in collaboration with communications or social media volunteers
    • Assist with on-site or virtual event execution
    • Participate in post-event debriefs and improvement planning

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in event planning, coordination, or project management (professional or volunteer)
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple moving parts and meet deadlines
    • Reliable, proactive, and collaborative
    • Passion for mental health advocacy and survivor-centered work
    • Nonprofit experience is helpful but not required

    Time Commitment:

    • Approximately 3–6 hours per month on average
    • Additional time during major events or planning periods
    • Flexible schedule; remote coordination possible, with in-person support for local events when feasible
