Description
Start as a volunteer-intern and take on a project, then a team, as you show you can lead.
What you will do
- Spend your first months inside a field programme.
- Take over a project: the plan, the people, the money and the report.
- Mentor new interns and help choose the next ones.
Who this is for
- You can commit nine months or more.
- You want to run things, not only help with them.
- You are fine starting unpaid while you earn trust.
What you get

What it costs
This placement is unpaid. A monthly fee covers your shared room, meals, internet, training, mentoring, local transport for the work, and the papers for your visa.
- From abroad: USD 810 for one month, USD 1,350 for three, USD 1,980 for six, plus a refundable USD 45 deposit. You need health and evacuation insurance.
- From India: ₹9,000 a month for one month, falling to ₹3,000 a month for six, plus a refundable ₹1,500 deposit for some housing.
- Not included: flights, visa fees and insurance.
- Group discounts and scholarships can lower the fee.
- The fee is less than your stay costs us.
