    Description

    Manufacturing Renaissance (MR) is seeking Instructors to support our Career Pathway Services (CPS) programs, including the Manufacturing Connect training program. This volunteer role is ideal for someone with machining or manufacturing experience who is passionate about sharing technical skills with youth and young adults from Chicago’s south and west sides. Volunteer with Opportunity for Stipend.

    The Instructors will assist in delivering hands-on machining instruction aligned with NIMS credentialing, help maintain training equipment and resources, and contribute to developing high-quality, inclusive technical training programs. Volunteers will receive mentorship from experienced instructors and gain valuable experience in workforce development and manufacturing education.

    Qualifications:

    • Some experience with NIMS credentialing
    • Strong interest in teaching, youth development, and manufacturing careers
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Reliable, proactive, and committed to fostering equitable access to manufacturing opportunities
    • Some hands-on experience with blueprint reading and precision measurement tools, including drills, calipers, and micrometers
