International Transformation Foundation USA (ITF-USA) is a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to reliable, affordable clean water in communities across Africa while empowering young people through leadership and cross-cultural service. About the opportunity

As a Project Coordinator, you will support the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of ITF-USA’s Water Kiosk and Drinking Water Fountain projects in Kenya and Rwanda. Working with the Program Director, Program Manager, U.S.-based volunteers, and local ITF teams, you will help turn project goals into detailed action plans and ensure projects remain organized and on schedule from initial planning through implementation and post-project reporting. This role provides hands-on experience in international development, clean water programming, project coordination, and cross-cultural teamwork. Please note that this is a remote volunteer position.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the planning, scheduling, and coordination of Water Kiosk and Drinking Water Fountain projects in Kenya and Rwanda.
• Track project timelines, milestones, tasks, and deliverables to keep projects on schedule.
• Coordinate with local ITF teams and U.S.-based volunteers throughout project planning and implementation.
• Maintain project plans, documentation, budgets, progress updates, and reporting materials.
• Provide project information and documentation to support fundraising and grant applications.
• Identify project challenges or delays and work with the Projects team to develop solutions.
• Support post-project monitoring, reporting, and documentation of outcomes and lessons learned.
• Provide regular project updates to the Program Manager and Program Director.

Eligibility

• Current student or graduate in international development, project management, public health, environmental studies, nonprofit management, international relations, or a related field.
• Experience or coursework in project planning, program coordination, international development, WASH, or community-based programming.
• Strong organizational, communication, research, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, maintain detailed documentation, and proactively identify project needs or challenges.
• Interest in clean water access, community-led development, youth engagement, and international collaboration.
• Comfortable collaborating with U.S.-based volunteers and internationally distributed teams.
• Minimum availability of 10 hours per week for at least three months.
