Rose Tatum, CVA was working at a local regional bank in her hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina when she realized she wanted to change her career. She was no stranger to volunteering, often participating in community service on her own and hosting employee engagement initiatives at work. These projects helped Rose realize that she wanted to find a role with meaning, one that brought her as much joy as volunteering.

On Idealist, Rose found an organization based in Peru that relied on volunteers to assist local community projects across the country. After spending two weeks volunteering, she knew she wanted to make volunteerism a bigger part of her life and career. She started searching and found her next social-impact job on Idealist, and made working with volunteers her full-time gig.

Fresh out of grad school, Simone landed a designer role at the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
