  • Mission

Child Safe Michigan supports youth in foster care by recruiting and empowering dedicated volunteer mentors who provide consistent guidance, meaningful relationships, and encouragement as young people work toward stability and independence.

    About Us

We’re a nonprofit dedicated to showing up for young people in foster care. We serve youth ages 14–23 by connecting them with committed, caring mentors who offer encouragement, stability, and real-world insight during a pivotal time in their lives.

At the heart of our work is a simple belief: relationships matter. One consistent, positive adult can help a young person build confidence, develop essential life skills, and start to see new possibilities for their future.

We lead with integrity, compassion, and accountability, and we’re committed to creating a community where both mentors and youth feel respected, supported, and empowered.

With training, ongoing support, and a strong network behind them, our mentors show up with purpose—helping young people move toward stability, independence, and lasting success.

You must be 21 years old to become a mentor through our agency, and we will provide training at no cost.
